Many BMW CCA and ZSCCA club members like to use a headset with their GMRS radios during club driving events. These belt-clip mounts keep the radio up and out of your way as well as keep the antenna vertical and over the cockpit edge for optimal reception and transmission range.

These are 3D printed parts in that will fit most radios (Midland, Wouxun, Motorola, Baofeng). A drawing is provided with measurements for the slot where the belt clip goes and the positioning of the clip retainer nub. If this doesn't fit your radio, we can make one that does easily, but this part is designed to be basically universal. The plastic used is carbon fiber impregnated ASA, which will hold up to UV and direct heat from the sun without issue.

There are 2 parts available. For any BMW Z except G29 Z4, this part comes with 3M VHB adhesive tape and you can place the mount wherever you like. It is shown here in an E85 Z4 on the bulkhead by the driver's shoulder. My personal preference is actually to mount it on the passenger's shoulder as it is easer to reach over and adjust the volume on the radio while driving. For E89 Z4, placement would be approximately the same. For Z3, many customers choose to mount it centered on the bulkhead / subwoofer area.

For G29 Z4, the entire bulkhead is carpeted so we offer a separate part with M2.5 screws and nuts that fit right through two designated holes on the bulkhead speaker grill (pictured). This can also be mounted on the driver or passenger side - your choice.

When installing the adhesive version, I recommend wiping the area down with denatured alcohol first. Then place the mount and press firmly and hold in place for about 1 minute to set the bond. I strongly recommend that the mount then be allowed to sit for several days, ideally a week, with no radio hanging on it for optimal adhesion of the tape. When properly installed, these will remain in place for years if not permanently. They are of course, removable by gently prying with a trim removal tool.
